Don’t add Pastor Adeboye on Facebook – Pastor Adeboye warns

Akan Ido

Pastor Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Church of God (RCCG), has warned unsuspecting members of the public not to fall victim to fraudsters impersonating him on the social networking site, Facebook, in a bid to extort money from them.

The pastor who gave this warning through his Facebook page, said he got to know about the criminal scheme through a church member who was asked to pay some money into a particular account supposedly belonging to Adeboye for his foreign trip to India.

He advised his Facebook friends to endeavour to verify the authenticity of messages credited to him before taking action to that effect.

“Please be very careful what you easily fall for. There are some persons going around creating false Facebook pages or names, claiming they are Pastor E. A. Adeboye. All you have to do is a search for them on Facebook and they will add you and then pretend to be me, telling you to send some money into an account and because they know you will obey me, they are using this as a new form of fraud. Please stop them and report those pages to Facebook so they can be stopped,” he cautioned.

Be warned, the pastor does not need your money for a trip to India, or anywhere else he needs to be.
