Dr Dre drops, Katy Perry soars in Forbes’ 2015 Highest-Paid Musicians (Full List)

Forbes’ annual list of highest-paid musicians has been released, and as one might expect, pop stars took the top slots.

According to Forbes, the highest paid musicians of 2015 is Katy Perry, who earned $135 million, largely from touring.

Other names in the top 10 include One Direction, Garth Brooks, The Eagles, Calvin Harris, Diddy and Taylor Swift.

Katy Perry, who was ranked 23 in 2014, was almost certain to sit on the throne in 2015, after her highly successful 17 month ‘Prismatic World Tour’.

Dr Dre dropped from the number one slot in 2014 to an embarrassing 28 this year.

Despite the release of a record that was a decade in the making, and a commercially successful blockbuster, it appears that art money isn’t worth as much as headphone money.

Dre sold his Beats brand to Apple for $3 billion last year and he pocketed over $600 million from the deal.

Jay Z and Beyonce collectively grossed over $100 million from their “On the Run” tour.

Despite his purchase of TIDAL, Jay Z’s diverse business endeavors earned him $56 million this year.
