Emir of Keffi dies after ‘brief illness’

Emir of Keffi, Mohammdu Chindo Yamusa II, is dead.

The monarch, who is over 70 years was said to have died peacefully in the early hours of Friday morning in his palace in Keffi, Nasarawa state.

In a statement released by his brother, Abubakar Gada Mohammed, Dan Galadiman Keffi, it was disclosed that Yamusa II passed on around 3am after suffering from a brief illness.

Mohammed described his death as shocking, disclosed that the final funeral rites and burial would take place after Juma’at prayer in Keffi.

The monarch assumed the prestigious throne in 1978.
