Emir of Kano sacks Governor Ganduje’s brother as Village Head

The Kano Emirate Council has sacked the Village Head of Ganduje, Sani Umar Ganduje, who’s the younger brother of the Kano state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The council on Monday, announced the removal of Ganduje, by the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, at a special palace sitting in Kano.

The Emir revealed that the Sani was sacked because of his gross negligence of duty which the Emirate council found unsettling. Sanusi also noted that bringing disrepute to the good image of traditional institution is an unacceptable sin.

According to the monarch, the Village Head was stripped of his turban as his offence bordered on gross official misconduct which the place was all out to jettison for the sake of safeguarding the credibility of the revered monarchy in Kano stressing that it is an abiding obligation on the shoulders of every traditional ruler to exhibit a modicum of good conduct.

Emir Sanusi called on all traditional rulers in Kano Emirate Council to be disciplined and shun any act of negligence and gross official misconduct. He went on to stress that with discipline and absolute commitment to duty nothing could ever stand in the wheel of the Kano Emirate Council to maintain its adored status.
