EFCC raids former VP, Namadi Sambo’s office; seize $50,000

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, on Monday, raided the office of immediate past Vice President, Namadi Sambo, in Abuja.

The anti-corruption agency is reported to have seized $50,000 during the raid.

The raid, according to Vanguard, was based on the discovery that an aide to the erstwhile vice president, Daboh, had collected N25 million from the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisah Metuh. The monies paid to Daboh is believed to have originated from the Former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

Daboh was arrested but released on January 11th after giving a statement to the anti-graft agency.

The raid on ex-vice president’s office by operatives of the EFCC is believed to have been carrying out in hopes of finding incriminating evidence.

operatives of the EFCC also carted away branded watches, asset declaration forms, list of landed properties, among other things in a safe deposit box of the former VP.

Vanguard further reports that the raid occurred days after Namadi Sambo had transferred some vital documents, which was assumed to be foreign, to his office in Ghana-must-go bags.
