Billboard features Tekno as next Nigerian star to break into North America

MMMG artiste, Tekno has again been recognized by Billboard Magazine.

In an article exploring his prospects of breaking into the American music market, Tekno tells the magazine about the influence of his hit song ‘Pana’ and ‘Duro’ on his career. He said, “I started traveling heavy, my fee went up, more girls, more attention. That was: he’s bad and he’s here to stay.”

The article records that the song “‘Pana’ has slowly but surely crept into American listeners’ consciousness“.

It also touches on Tekno’s deal with Columbia Records and the impact fellow superstar, Davido has had on his journey.

Iyanya releases new EP ‘Signature’

R&B singer, Iyanya has just released a new EP.

The 8-track EP titled ‘Signature’ features tracks like the 2016 single, ‘Up 2 sumting‘, recently released ‘Hold On‘ and ‘Not Forgotten‘ featuring Poe.

The former MMMG artiste who signed on to Mavin Records in 2016 unveiled his new effort at this week’s Industry Nite celebration where he also performed the songs on the EP.

This EP is the first in Iyanya’s musical career, following two albums released in 2009 and 2013.

Blac Chyna goes on Snapchat rant, accuses Tyga of not paying child support

Rob Kardashian’s former fiance, Blac Chyna has called out her other ex, rapper Tyga on Snapchat for failing to take up responsibility for their 4-year-old son, King Cairo.

She wrote, “It’s funny now to me!!! But when Tyga and side n—a kicked me out!!! And they wanted to see me fail! Lol…And 2 grind from the dirt!!!!! No child support!”

“So go tell Kylie, and Rob! About our son account! Cause that’s the only reason I’m contacting ur f-g ass! But u wanna make it like I want u lol! Tyga ur a bitch! And us can go get ur mom, or ur bitch! Lol!!!!! Or ur n—a u f–kin, or Terrell, or heather!”

Chyna and Tyga split in 2014 and have been co-parenting since then. Chyna now has her second child, Dream for Rob Kardashian and Tyga is in a relationship with Rob’s half sister, Kylie Jenner.

 

MI Abaga talks passion, art and the business of music on EbonyLife TV’s The Spot

Chocolate City rapper, MI Abaga was on EbonyLife’s TV show, The Spot where he spoke on the different aspects of being a musician combined with running a record label and dealing with artistes.

When asked talent and strategy, MI said, “When you have superior talent, it takes you close to getting an opportunity…the people that put in the most work beat the talented who hardly get anything done“.
