FaithNaija: Born to worship

by Doyin Jaiyesimi

But as for me, I will enter Your house through the abundance of Your steadfast love and mercy; I will worship toward and at Your holy temple in reverent fear and awe of You.Psalm 5: 7

One of the things God requires from us is worship. Worship is hard to define because it is an act that transcends the physical. It goes beyond the lifting of hands and the singing of praise. Worship is not something we only do when we are in the ‘spirit’. Instead, it is something we are expected to do all our lives. God has called us to be worshippers. He wants us to worship him in spirit and in truth.

True worship involves humility, reverence and service. It is not dependent on a person’s present circumstances. Rather, it is a recognition that God deserves all the glory and honour. Yes we are confronted with a flood of bad news everyday and we live in an imperfect world, but that should not affect our worship. In good and in bad times, let your worship remain. God loves you. Serve Him, respect your fellow man and live with the full blessings of God.

  1. God bless you for such great piece, worship is God's main purpose of all the beautiful things in creation but what does men do, focus on the 'offerings' and forget the 'offerer'. God is calling us to worship, its a language that only those who respect the person of God above man will ever understand.
