The Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States of America (FBI) have trained 31 participants drawn from the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Navy, the Nigerian Air Force, the office of the National Security Adviser and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The participants were trained on investigating post-blasts scenes.

The team of bomb experts from the FBI led by Michael Trubenback and Thomas Conboy, during the training on Monday said the security agencies have lots of work on their hands in tackling the menace of terror attacks in Nigeria.

Trubenback said, “This training is one of the post-blast processes. We are teaching the Nigerian policemen and other security agencies to help them investigate post-blast scenes. They are being trained on how to identify Improvised Explosive Devices, how to collect evidences, among others.
“Nigeria has an ongoing terror attacks in some states. They are terror attacks and they are also crime scenes. So, we can teach operatives to have basic techniques in investigating such scenes and collecting evidences. This helps in getting the perpetrators and putting them in jail. This course covers especially post-blast scenes.”
