Federal lawmakers do the unthinkable, pass 130 bills in one day

The lawmakers of the Federal House of Representatives have made a statement of intent regarding their new disposition to carrying out the duties they were elected for.

They did the unthinkable, the unexpected when they passed a tall amount of bills during sitting today.

Whether the motivation behind their action is genuine or plastic, will be determined in the long run.

Although it’s nothing to celebrate, history was made as a total of 130 bills passed first reading at the House of Representatives on Thursday, December 10.

Clerk of the House, Mohammed Sani-Omolori, spent quite sometime in reading out the titles of the bill.

After the day’s sitting, some members of the parliament- feeling good with themselves- said they’ll attempt to work harder, pass more bills and resolutuions

“There is a shift from the era of slumbering in the past”, they say.

We hope!
