Well, at least 20 million naira. In 10 days. And we say ‘we hear’ because the only source for the figure is Linda Ikeji, who we can only assume got the information from Mike Ezuruonye (the producer) himself. And seeing as there are no other sources of box office figures in Nigeria, we’re going to have to take them at their word.

So we say big congratulations, especially as it’s Ezuruonye’s first foray into production.

And based on that, we’d like to throw out the suggestion that cinema chains in Nigeria release box office figures publicly. We think it can only be for the good of the industry when people know what’s making money and what isn’t, as that’s the strongest path to understanding Nigerian audiences. It would be great if the public got these figures regularly and didn’t have to wait for producers to tell us these things themselves.
