From the Bloggers: Life, death and the anti-gay bill.

by Wilfred Okiche

The Ikemba of Nnewi Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu passed on during the weekend and while the blogosphere was alive with the news, ‘Dobby’s signature’ published a revealing interview which his widow, Bianca, granted a national daily a while back. In the interview, the former beauty queen, who is about thirty years younger than the late Ikemba, confessed that she would not encourage her daughter to marry an older man.

Former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nasir El-Rufai lost his eldest daughter, Yasmin and news of her death was widely spread across the blogs. ‘Chizy’s spyware’ was quite the busy bee, researching on a double-decker grave built by a wealthy family as the site for their final resting place.

But as we found out, life is a cycle and for every life lost, another one is gained. So was the case for celebrities like TV presenter, Innocent Osakodiuwa, producer, Cobhams Asuquo and Akin Familusi Babs, publisher of FAB magazine who all welcomed new born babies during the week. Kourtney, first daughter of the (in)famous Kardashian clan also announced her second pregnancy and the ‘Surprise’ blog had all the scoop. ‘Nigerian Entertainment’ found actress, Uche Jombo landing a role in a Yoruba flick worth buzzing about.

Back into gloom reports, ‘Beyond Gossip’ was more concerned with keeping us up to date on the trial of Conrad Murray, physician to the late pop star, Michael Jackson and dished on his four-year jail sentence  and ‘Celeb angle’ was wondering aloud, if actress Kate Henshaw’s family-themed Promasidor endorsement deal would be renewed in the aftermath of her divorce.

Chude Jideonwo’s article condemning the senate’s new legislation on gay marriages was published on CNN and here also on YNaija, we were gushing about it though it unleashed a flurry of responses. Still on YNaija blogs, Ifreke Inyang shared with us how he tried to set P on Twitter with a hot chick but ended up with an f. Talking about sparking a debate, The controversial ‘Truth don die’ blog attempted differentiating between real and fake pastors. Hmmmn!

Fitness blog, ‘Eights and weights’ was offering video tips on how to do a lunge (guess you should just watch to understand it).

No comment there but we shall leave you with an inspiring quote we found on the ‘Journey to discovery’ blog space credited to American actress Ravyne Simone:

‘’Don’t spend all your lifetime trying to be like someone else because you can never be them and they can never be you.’’

Cheers.
