Fulani herdsmen waylay, murder 32 people in Nasarawa

Suspected Fulani herdsmen have killed not less than 32 Eggon people in Arikya-Soni , Nasarawa State after waylaying them as they returned from their farms on the evening of Saturday, 8 November.

The victims were from Umme, Arugbadu and Bakyano villages of Nasarawa Eggon local government area.

32 dead people were reportedly given a mass burial at Umme after their remains were recovered at Umme on Saturday.

Mohammed Muluku, a lawmaker representing Nasarawa Eggon East in the state House of Assembly, while at the scene of the incident, lamented the killings and pleaded with the Federal Government to urgently establish a permanent military base in the area to prevent future attacks .

Confirming the attack, the Police spokesperson for the state, Umaru Numa, said investigation had began, to apprehend the suspected herdsmen. He, however did not confirm the death toll.
