2 International forensic auditors to probe Jonathan’s administration

Two international forensic auditors will be hired to probe the administration of former President, Goodluck Jonathan.

The Oshiomhole/El-Rufai Committee set up by President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to contract the services of the auditors, who will determine how much the federal government earned and how much was spent from January 2010 to May 2015.

The decision to engage the services of the foreign auditors was communicated on Thursday, August 6, at the inaugural meeting of the committee in Abuja.

Some of the nation’s revenue generating agencies have been reportedly invited to brief the committee.

The focus of the auditors is expected to center on the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, the Nigeria Customs Service, he Central bank of Nigeria, the Nigeria Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative, NEITI, among others.

The committee will also be briefed by all the Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs of the federal government that deal directly with revenue.
