Don’t listen to politicians, they tell so many lies – Goodluck Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan says Nigerian youths should not allow themselves be hoodwinked by the electoral lies and superficial promises of politicians.

Jonathan said Nigerians should rather judge a politician by his/her antecedents and not what is promised during electioneering.

During the presentation of the Peoples Democratic Party flag to Bayelsa Governor Seriake Dickson in Yenagoa, on Saturday, the former President said he’s convinced that the PDP candidate is interested in the state’s development.

At the event held at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex, Jonathan said: “For the Bayelsa young people, do not be carried away by politicians. Politicians are people of many words.

They go to so many places, talking to so many people, telling so many lies. Do not listen to what people say, but assess what people have done over the period.”

“At our age, we are looking down, we are not looking up, whether you like it or not. So, think about your children and your grandchildren. Dickson has shown me that he wants development of this state.

He has encouraged development in this state. He is committed, he has that vision and all the projects he has been carrying on show that he is seeing Bayelsa beyond today. No leader can change a nation if you do not see beyond your nose.

This election is not for Jonathan and Dickson, the election is for you to vote for your liberation, to live in peace and to live in developed society.”
