Hulk Hogan has won his ‘invasion of privacy’ lawsuit against Gawker Media, and has been awarded $115 million in damages.
The former wrestler had in 2015, sued Gawker, its founder Nick and former editor A.J. Daulerio for posting a clip of a sex tape, which featured Hogan and his best friend’s wife.
‘Mr. Bollea is exceptionally happy. This is not only his victory today, but also anyone else who’s been victimized by tabloid journalism,’ said his lawyer, David Houston, after the Florida jury’s ruling.
Meanwhile, Nick Denton, the founder of Gawker Media, has said the news company intends to appeal the decision.
Hulk Hogan also took to Twitter to express his delight with the ruling.
