“I was moved by her dressing” – Man rapes 18-year-old in church toilet

by Reuben Daba

For allegedly sexually assaulting an 18-year old girl, a 30-year old man, Taoreed Oseni, was arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Lagos this week.

The Kwara State born Oseni was alleged to have raped the teenager in a church toilet at Oshodi, Lagos.

Surprisingly, Oseni confessed to the court that he was moved by the dressing of his victim, however, when the charges were read to him, he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecuting police inspector, Rachael Williams, told the court that Oseni committed the said offence on July 20 in a toilet at the Methodist Church, Ogunlende Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi by forcing his way into the female toilet, and having sex with the girl without the girl’s consent.

Such an act, according to the prosecutor, is punishable under Section 260 of the Criminal Law No. 11 Vol.44 Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.

Magistrate A.B. Olagbegi-Adelabu ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody till September 20.
