The Igbos have vowed to go away if Buhari turns his back on them

The Chairman of state Presidents of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in seven Igbo speaking states, Dr. Chris Eluemunoh, has warned that any further attempt to marginalise the ethnic group could result in secession.
Eluemunoh stated this on Tuesday, May 12 in Akwa, Anambra, where he revealed that the Igbo may be forced to move for self-determination if the incoming administration of Muhammadu Buhari turns its back on them.
He also disclosed that the United Nations had invited some Igbo elders, to discuss about their demand for a sovereign state for the Igbo in June.
Former National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dr. Dozie Ikedife, he said, would lead the Igbo delegation to the United Nations.
Eluomunoh added, “Buhari must give us one additional state to put us at par with our other brothers. He must also implement the report of the National Conference. If he turns his back to that report, he is turning his back to the unity of Nigeria. If he kills the report, he is killing the unity of Nigeria.”
