#InCaseYouMissedIt: 4 mobile policemen killed by armed robbers in Kogi

Four mobile police officers have been shot dead in Okene, in Kogi.

The officers were killed by armed robbers, on the night of Tuesday, December 23, during an attack on one of the banks in town by 20 robbers.

According to the police, the armed men reportedly arrived in four vehicles, but would meet a resistance from the police.

A statement released by the state police command on Wednesday, confirmed the robbery attack, adding that two of the robbers were also killed during the attack.

The release signed by Police spokesperson, DSP Elvis Aguebor, stated: “The entire area and all other banks in the town have been reinforced, while frantic efforts are on to track down the fleeing hoodlums. Many of them also escaped with gunshot wounds.”

The statement also appealed to members of the public to report anyone with bullet wounds at the nearest police station.
