‘My abductors took proper care of me’ – Jonathan’s foster father

“I was properly taken care of by the kidnappers. I eat three square meals daily, my drugs was administered to me appropriately by the boys,” says Inegite Jonathan, the 72-year-old foster father of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

The elderly Jonathan, who was abducted on February 17 and was held by his kidnappers for 35 days, said in an interview with newsmen that he was treated well by the people who kidnapped him.

He noted that he was given preferential treatment and was spared of the blindfold, even though others in captivity with him were blindfolded.

The septuagenarian further stated that the kidnappers asked other victims to pay allegiance to him, saying that the elderly man was untouchable in the camp.

Inegite, who was visited by his foster son, Goodluck Jonathan, and his wife, Patience Jonathan, soon after his release, told journalists that the kidnappers argued amongst themselves from the time he was kidnapped at his house till they got to the camp.

They, however, resolved their problems on getting to the camp.
