Professor Yemi Osinbajo before his assumption of office as the Vice-President of Nigeria is was of the bright stars of ACN and an important member of the Tinubu think thank, his tenure as the attorney general of Lagos was a turning point for the justice ministry while his selection as the running mate to the Buhari Ticket was a sort of magic to the APC 2015 Presidential outing.
However, the Midas touch expected of him at the national level where he occupies the number two seat in the nation has produced a sort of mixed feelings to his admirers. It’s unbelievable to many that a Presidency with Osinbajo as a key man will be so directionless as currently seen in the Buhari Presidency. The inhumane angle of the current administration coupled with poor citizen engagements should not have been in an administration where Osinbajo is a key man.
One picture that readily comes to mind was how the then vice presidential candidate of the APC had to travel within Lagos in BRT buses interacting and engaging Nigerians on issues relating to their welfare and what they are expecting from the Buhari Osinbajo Presidency.
As if that was not enough his dexterity on campaign soapbox was one to envy and crave for compared to Buhari’s unimpressive outing at his campaigns as a result it was evident we have an Aaron for a Moses. But the stark reality since 2015 till date has not been palatable enough.
This administration has taken decisions that are anti-people, they’ve failed to take necessary decisions that will engender the growth and development of Nigeria. Sometimes Nigerians wonder if Osinbajo is still part of this administration. His stint as the nation’s Acting President shows he possess some good skills needed to build a working nation.
Since Buhari’s return it’s been a return to the status quo of poor performance and inept leadership. Why is the Presidency not putting Osinbajo to good use? At the moment, the nation is directionless, this should not happen where we have Osinbajo as a key man!
