The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Friday tasked the Federal Government to create jobs and ensure youths employment in the country as part of the fulfillment of its promises.
The appeal was made in a statement by NLC General Secretary, Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson to commemorate the 2016 International Youth Day.
Ozo-Esan said it was important that the Federal Government fulfill this promise while also stating that it would ensure poverty eradication and sustainable development achievement.
“The congress is committed to the issues of youth empowerment because only then can we guarantee the future of our nation and the sustainability of the labour movement.
“This is also in line with the United Nations 2016 theme which is “The Road to 2030: Eradicating Poverty and Achieving Sustainable Consumption and Production,” he said.
