Time and time again, events surrounding Nigerian politics proves to be one of the most entertaining and engaging content for Nigerians. News of what goes on in Aso rock daily rivals what you would find on a TV series network. In fact, you can almost be certain the consistency in drama, the men and women of parliament are sure to put up.
Today, it’s a ‘cease-fire’ between PDP chieftain; Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, and President Muhammadu Buhari, that has got people talking. after a newspaper advertorial showing a letter sent from the office of the Rivers Governor to Mr. President surfaced on social media.
— Gawat Jubril A. (@Mr_JAGss) June 29, 2020
Contained in the letter is Wike’s appreciation of the President for his decision to settle a debt owed Rivers State. The high praise detailed in the letter caught Nigerians by surprise, as some would never have imagined such kind words for Buhari, coming from Wike, the ‘opposition warlord.’
If anyone had told me, that wike will be this humble towards Buhari, I won't believe ? ? ?

The Governor then goes on to show commitment towards building a smooth working relationship with the President, as he politely requested a visit from the President, stating that he wishes to show the President how far, he and the people of Rivers State have come. This right here is what has put Nigerians on Twitter in a state of disbelief.

When one elevates oneself above petty politics & Political shadow boxing shenanigans, one becomes a Stateman toasted by a political adversary. @MBuhari is invited by Gov Wike for a State Visit to Rivers following FG 78.9B refund.Politics can be played devoid of bitter Conflicts.. pic.twitter.com/xOK1FkvrFT

In the opinion of many, this letter proves that money is the only source of division among the Nigerian political class. Political views and philosophies play no part in gearing the principles our politicians live by, as long as the money is distributed, everyone becomes friends.
Look at Wike praising Buhari
Obaseki that was abusing PDP in 2016, is now in PDP
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu that was abusing APC in 2016, is now in APC
You see why you should no put your integrity & trust on the line for politicians?, they can do/undo and make you look stupid.

So all the Abuse on @MBuhari by @GovWike was not based on PRINCIPLES . so has the billions suddenly erased the assertion by you Gov. Wike that PMB has done nothing for Nigeria. You play dirty politics

Some people however, don’t see what the fuss is about. To them, the man is simply saying thank you in an appropriate situation. Or is just being smart.
All of u laffing that wike is singing praises shud know there's a way to do things other that politics every time. U lots want him to dance to ur tone. Wike has shown class. Put some respect on his name

Wike is a smart guy. Make noise to get your own share of the national cake. Make peace once you're settled. Isn't that smartness? The noise is never personal in politics, it is called interest. Wont be surprised if he pitches his tent with the BROOM tomorrow.

There is nothing novel or special in what Buhari and Wike did. We are just not used to doing things right in Nigeria
