“It’s like the case of a he-goat…” Oshiomhole in heated argument with AGF over killing of his aide (WATCH)

Governor Oshiomhole

The Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole and the Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Bello-Adoke engaged each other in a war of words today at the presidential Villa in Abuja over the case of the killing of Olaitan Oyerinde, Oshiomhole’s murdered principal secretary.

The incident happened at the State House where both men had attended the Council of State meeting which President Goodluck Jonathan presided over.

Reports say the verbal war almost degenerated into something less dignifying if not for the timely intervention of Emmanuel Uduaghan, the Delta state governor and others at the meeting.

Oshiomhole, who was visibly unimpressed had accused the AGF of disrespecting his office, but Adoke, who also spoke with newsmen, said the accusation was false.

Oshiomhole said Oyerinde’s case was wrongly referred to the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, instead of the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.

“Here I am, my primary Secretary is killed, nobody seems to bother. I’m doing my best to raise the issue because that is the least I owe to someone who gave his life. Yet for someone else who does not think life is important, it’s a matter to trivialise and joke about. When it comes to life and death, I don’t joke,” he said.
