‘Jim Nwobodo’s defection is a plan to escape Dasukigate’ – APC

The South-East chapter of the All Progressives Congress, on Monday, January 11, described the defection of Jim Nwobodo to the party as a plan to run away from the reach of the arm of the law.

Nwobodo, who is an ex-governor of old Anambra State has been alleged to be embroiled in the $2.1 billion arms deals undergoing probe by the Economic Financial Crime Commission, EFCC.

He was mentioned to have benefited up to N600 million slated for the campaigns and mobilization in the South-East geopolitical zone of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP during the 2015 general elections.

Reacting to the defection, APC South-East Caucus spokesperson, Osita Okechukwu said, Nwobodo entered APC through the window as a fugitive running from justice.

Osita said that, Nwobodo and hos associates fraternized with the PDP stalwarts to use the money from Dasukigate to allocate 14,175 votes to President Muhammadu Buhari, which is less than three percent of the over 15 million votes garnered by the President.
