Senate should learn how to tolerate abuse like Jonathan – Reno Omokri

Several reactions have trailed the proposed anti-social media bill that passed second hearing on the Senate floor on Tuesday, December 1.

Nigerian senators came out in droves to express their views on the proposed bill, some on social media and some in the House after a massive outrage against the bill.

In like manner, Reno Omokri, former Special Assistant on New Media to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan took to twitter to express his views on the proposed bill.

Omokri says his former boss, Goodluck Jonathan would never entertain such a bill from the Senate.

He added that several slanderous and false statements were made about the ex-president but he never thought of tampering with the freedom of speech of the electorates even to the detriment of his political career.

He also subtly implied that this proposed gagging of free speech is a repercussion for voting for change in the April polls.
