#JusticeForBridget: Prime suspect in gruesome murder of Igbo trader, arrested

The Kano state Governor, Umar Ganduje, has condemned the killing of 74 year Bridget Patience Agbahime and also announced the arrest of a prime suspect in the gruesome murder, Alhaji Dauda.

In a series of tweets from the his twitter handle, the Governor said he had met with the husband of the deceased, Pastor Mike Agbahime, as well as the state Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and some Igbo leaders in the state.

The Kano state commissioner of police, Maigari Dikko, has announced the arrest of two suspects in the murder of Bridget, even as it promised to further investigate and arrest others involved.

The Commissioner, however, disclosed that Bridget wasn’t beheaded, as earlier reported, but was instead beaten to death by an angry mob for allegedly insulting the Prophet Mohammed.

Husband of the deceased, Pastor Mike Agbahime, also confirmed that his wife wasn’t beheaded, saying that Bridget had a misunderstanding with business neighbours over a space.

He and his wife hid in the house of one Alhaji but the angry mob had forced themselves in, overpowered the few police officers around and killed his wife.
