Governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose, has revealed the reason why he failed to probe his predecessor, Kayode Fayemi.
Fayose defeated Fayemi, in the gubernatorial election of July 2015, and had made several allegations against him since assuming power.
The governor revealed on his Twitter page on Wednesday, that he didn’t investigate the activities of Fayemi’s tenure because he didn’t want distractions.
In a couple of tweets, he made his case:
I didn’t probe Fayemi because I don’t want distraction and my primary duty is to make sure that the Ekiti project does not fail.

When I built the market at Ajilosun, Ado Ekiti during my first tenure, I did not name it after myself, the people did.

As a governor, you don’t need to immortalise yourself, let the people do.
