From ‘lack of judges’ to ‘ill health’, Saraki’s appeal delayed again

Yet again, the hearing of Senate President, Bukola Saraki’s appeal at the Federal Court of Appeal against his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has been stalled.

Why?

Saraki’s lawyer, Kanu Agabi (SAN) is suffering from ill health, however, the nature of the sickness is unknown. Hence, the court cannot sit.

“In view of the letter sent to this panel from the applicant’s counsel, Chief Kanu Agabi, seeking adjournment on account of ill health and since this prayer is not opposed, the court will grant it. ”

“The hearing of the appeal is hereby adjourned until July 18,” said the Appeal Court led by Justice Moore Adumen.

The appeal could not be heard on May 31 because the panel was not complete and the hearing was subsequently adjourned till Thursday as a quorum couldn’t be formed.

Bukola Saraki is being tried at the tribunal for alleged false and anticipatory declaration of his asset while serving as governor of Kwara.
