“No, you can’t put that blame on me” was essentially the message Senate President Bukola Saraki was trying to pass across when he responded to a tweet this morning.
This Twitter user @irene_achamaja tried to make the Senate president take the fall for Ike Ekweremadu’s emergence as Deputy Senate President despite being a member of the opposition party, PDP.
Okay. So question is why did you sell our " change " to Ike Ekweremadu? Where is it done that an opposition is DSP? https://t.co/YkvKgccFOX

Rather than let the matter slide, Saraki provided an epic response that helped to clarify the matter once and for all, we hope.
If a team refused to turn up for a scheduled match & was consequently walked over, would it be fair to blame the team that turned up? https://t.co/2bHjxAaDlQ

He further explained that the decision made by some APC senators to be absent from the House while the election was held was what led to their own undoing.
I didn't envisage some @APCNigeria members been absent from @NGRSenate especially when clerk already received a proclamation from President https://t.co/2bHjxAaDlQ

Saraki has used the opportunity to deny any speculation that he worked in alliance with the opposition party thereby betraying his own.
I did not do any deal with @OfficialPDPNig . I did not have to because even before they took group decision, 22 or them already endorsed me https://t.co/2bHjxAaDlQ
