Mr Elijah Nwankwo from Ebonyi is no more with us, as he has crossed on to the other side, after drinking 8 cans of Bullet Energy drink, necessitated by a bet with Chikwado Nchionu.
Nwankwo, of Ikwo Local Government Area has been confirmed dead after allegedly gulping energy can drinks, following a bet with a certain, Chikwado Nchionu.
Ebere Amarizu, the police spokesperson in Enugu state released a statement on Friday, December 12 confirming the incident.
According to the statement, the victim had on Dec. 11 agreed to drink eight cans of energy drink for N1,600 to be paid by one Chikwado, who challenged him to the bet.
The statement said: “After taking the energy drink, he became weak and went into coma. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Enugu where he was confirmed dead by a doctor.”
“The body of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary”, the statement added.
