Shall we pay homage; to the man who inspired the creation of the curly hairstyle of two famous Nigerian pastors, Chris Oyakhilome and Chris Okotie.

Comer Cottrell, the man who became rich, from making and selling hair-curling products to African-Americans, died on 3 October at his home in Texas, at the age of 82.

Cottrell, and his brother, James, and another partner, opened the Pro-Line Corporation in downtown Los Angeles in 1970.

In 1980 Pro-Line came up with the ‘Curly kit’, and it instantly became successful, as curly hairs was suddenly the fad of the times. In 1981, Forbes magazine called the Curly Kit “the biggest single product ever to hit the black cosmetics market.
