The Media Blog: If you are a young woman looking for a female mentor, all you need is Kemi Adetiba’s King Women

We know there is a mentorship movement these days, everyone looking for a magic mentor – most likely famous – that will solve all their problems and answer all their questions.

Well, Kemi Adetiba has solved that problem for you. The series King Women had its finale for season one on Monday with the interview of Kemi’s mum, Mayen Adetiba and it wrapped up an excellent season, excellently.

When this started, Kemi called it “a visual movement that acts as an accessible source of mentorship and emotional upliftment to young and impressionable ladies.” She was right.

Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, TY Bello, Tara Durotoye, Chigul, Funmi Victor-Okigbo, Olajumoke Adenowo, Remi Fagbohun, Adesuwa Onyenokwe, Ayodeji Megbope have all delivered with heart and honesty on everything – personal and professional.

It is a crash course for all young women. Kemi and Accelerate should be thanked for this rare gift.
