Buhari’s ministerial nominees to get petitioned from Tuesday

Petitions against the ministerial nominees of President Muhammadu Buhari, are expected to start trickling into the Senate from Tuesday, October 6.

The President had sent the list containing the names of the ministerial nominees to the senate on Wednesday, September 30, for screening.

However, the list won’t be read out on the floor of the Assembly till Tuesday, during plenary session.

After the list has been officially read by Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, petitions against some of the ministerial nominees can then be forwarded to the Senate.

Chairman, Senate Committee on Ethics and Public Petitions, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, said his committee would pay prompt attention to the petitions, as soon as they are presented.

He said, “We have not been receiving petitions from members of the public obviously because the list of ministerial nominees has not been officially unveiled by the senate president.

“I think the petitions will start coming in as from next Tuesday after Nigerians would have known the nominees.”
