The new Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba was presented with a high tech bomb disposal robot by the US Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle, during a visit of latter to the force headquarters on Wednesday, 20 August.
The robot was presented alongside other equipments which will assist in the counter terrorism war, to the Nigeria Police Force.
During the courtesy visit, the Ambassador thanked the Nigeria Police Force for its high level of co-operation and partnership with the US Embassy in Nigeria, while also congratulating the Ag. IGP on his new appointment.
While speaking, Entwistle assured Abba that the United States would continue to give relevant support to the Police force in the areas of training and security cooperation.
The IGP, responded with appreciation to the Ambassador’s courtesy visit, going on to thank the US government for assisting the Nigeria Police Force in areas of investigation, management of scene of crime and position of equipment.
Speaking further, the IGP restated his commitment to continue to drive reforms and transformation of the Force; in order to reposition the Force for better service delivery. He promised that the newly donated equipment would be put to effective use.
