Nigerian police officer

Nigerian police officers are no longer satisfied with the insults and backlash they get from Nigerians all the time, as a result, one of them, Aleey Giwa, has chosen to be their mouthpiece.

He took to his Instagram page moments ago to bemoan the plights of the Nigerian police officers.

Aleey says that despite the efforts of the police, they are trailed with so much negativity and that they are never appreciated.

Read his heart cry below:

“Just another man is what I had started out to be, Then i took an oath to serve and protect you and me. I wonder sometimes if we (police officers) get more than we bargained for, When the way for police officers (olopa) is so narrow with so many closed doors.

How could we let a murderer back out on the street, When i promised my family this arrest would keep.

All the times the police pulled someone over for driving recklessly, document check or tinted glass (permit)! Having to know all this is our job and style, we still receive negative words from people we took an oath to serve and protect! Knowing that my job (popo) could easily make this day my last.

Watching a mother of three kids crying as her children has bin kidnapped. If we can’t find the kids & the suspect, then people will say it was our (the police) mistake that those kids were kidnapped.

Someone needs extra security overnight, We would hate to think we ain’t in sight. So even after pulling a ten hour day, i am once again, gladly on my way.

Over night lookout jobs are not much fun, But once again i see the rising of the sun.I could have chosen to go home to family and friends, But when I said to SERVE and PROTECT, i said it with honesty and until the end. Trust me “the police are your friends.”
