Nigeria’s environment minister to be named UN Deputy Secretary General

Minister of Environment, Amina Mohammed will soon be named UN Deputy Secretary General.

Mohammed served as an adviser to the outgoing UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.

She was appointed a Minister by President Muhammadu Buhari in November 2016.

The United Nations is expected to released an official statement on her appointment as deputy to Antonio Guterres, who will assume office as Secretary General of the world body on January 1, 2017.
