OC Ukeje, Joseph Benjamin, Najite Dede and many more! Open-Mic is back this Saturday

The much anticipated second edition of Open-Mic Theatre will hold this Saturday at Life House in Victoria Island.  Following the immense success of the first edition, the organizers are back with the second edition which is themed ‘An Evening of Film’ and will hold tomorrow Saturday, 8 October 2011. This second edition will feature actors performing excerpts from Nollywood and Hollywood movies.

The maiden edition held on the 6th of August showcased stellar performances from Nse Ikpe-Etim, OC Ukeje, Bimbo Manuel, Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju, Bikiya Graham Douglas and a host of others. With an inventive new twist, the second edition of Open-Mic promises an exciting new theatrical experience for all lovers of theatre and performers.

“We had an exciting first edition for the show,” the organizers said. “And we are trying to expand the possibilities and diversify the theatre experience not only for the audience, but for the actors and everyone else involved in theatrical productions. It can only get better.”

The performers lined up for the second installment include: Nse Ikpe-Etim,OC Ukeje,Najite Dede, Gideon Okeke, Joseph Benjamin, Kemi Lala Akindoju,Omonor Somolu, Uzo Osimkpa, Chika Chukwu, Kenneth Uphopho, Paul Alumona,Zara Udofia, Omoye Uzamere, Abiodun Kassim, Ayo Ajike and many others. The night will be opened by the soothing melodies of Sista Soul.

The Open –Mic theatre was created with the intent to act as a tool for reviving the declining theatre culture in Nigeria. The theatre intends to create a conducive environment where the actors can hone their skills and move their craft to the next level. It also provides the platform for talented performers to get discovered. Writers, directors, filmmakers and producers are also given the required platform to move their careers to the next level with the Open Mic theatre.
