Ondo election: Mimiko accuses INEC of injustice

Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko has said the Independent National Electoral Commission ought to postpone the governorship election in the state owing to court cases that followed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’ s primary.

Mimiko said this in a press conference on Friday in Akure, stating that it was injustice on the part of the electoral umpire to go on with the election.

“How do you expect a candidate to mobilise funds within 24 hours for an election?

“How do you expect a candidate to do campaign within 24 hours?

“This is unfair and that is why I have been going to Abuja to appeal to the President to instruct INEC to do the right thing,” he lamented.

The governor said the people of the state should not boycott the election while urging them to protect their votes.
