We are ready for April UTME examination – JAMB
The Coordinator, Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB), Lagos office Kamaldeen Oladeji on Monday said that the body is well prepared and all is set for the Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination (UTME), scheduled for April 12.
Alhaji Oladeji told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos that 11 centres accredited for the Dual Based Test and the 103 venues for the Paper Pencil Test in the state were ready. Read more….
Ibadan Poly students protest ‘unjust’ fee, outage
There was a protest by students of the Polytechnic Ibadan on Monday against N500 Entrepreneurship Development Programme charge introduced by the polytechnic authorities, and the non-availability of electricity and water on the campus.
The institution’s main gate was blocked by the protesting students while academic activities were paralysed during the period. Read more….
Ibadan killings: Police to engage forensic experts
The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Indabawa, said on Monday that forensic experts would be engaged in investigating the killings in an apartment discovered in Soka area of Ibadan.
No fewer than 20 decomposed bodies and some emaciated captives were found in the apartment on Saturday. Read more….
Police foil attack on students in Kebbi State
The Kebbi Police Command said on Monday that it had foiled an attempt by unknown gunmen to attack the Kebbi State College of Basic and Advanced Studies in Yauri, headquarters of Yauri Local Government Area of the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Benjamin Onwuka, told newsmen in Birnin Kebbi that the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday.
Onwuka, however, dismissed insinuations that the attackers were insurgents. Read more….
