The Ogun Police command has arrested a pastor, Adekunle Francis, for allegedly forcefully having unlawful carnal knowledge of a 17-year-old girl.
The suspect was alleged to have lured the girl into an uncompleted building under the pretense of praying and anointing her before forcefully having sex with her.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the incident was later reported by the victim at the Sango Police Station.
On hearing of her ordeal the Divisional Police Officer, Akinsola Ogunwale, dispatched a team of detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested on Tuesday November 22, 2016.
He said on interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the crime, attributing it to the work of devil.
Oyeyemi, said the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the Anti- Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Abeokuta, for further investigation.
