One good turn deserves another.

For throwing their weight behind his party in the upcoming election, Pres. Goodluck Jonathan’s administration has launched a $2billion fund for Nollywood which is said to address the urgent challenges of poor distribution system and the menace of piracy.

Tagged ‘Project ACT Nollywood, it is similar to the N3billion Nollywood Intervention Fund launched 4 years ago by President Goodluck Jonathan.

On Jan 24, 2015, President GEJ held a meeting with some top entertainers like Ini Edo, Segun Arinze, Emem Isong, Bovi, Monalisa Chinda, Ramsey Nuoah, Omo Baba, Omawumi, Omoni Oboli & others in Lagos, but the details of the meeting were not made public. However, last week the Federal Government launched the N2 billion Innovation Distribution Fund (IDF) aimed at improving the distribution of audio-visual content, cutting down on piracy, and better protect intellectual property in the industry
