Recession: Governors fully behind Buhari’s plans to salvage situation

State Governors on Friday said they were fully behind plans being introduced by President Buhari’s administration to bring the country out of recession.

The governors made this disclosure after an extraordinary meeting held by the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) at the old Banquet Hall of the State House, Abuja.

NGF Chairman and Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari who spoke with State House correspondents after the meeting said, “Also the governors resolved with a commitment to encourage the Federal government to continue along the line to bring the country out of recession.”

On Thursday President Muhammadu Buhari said for the nation to come out of recession it had to think out of the box.

Buhari made the remark during his speech at the one-day retreat organised by the Ministry of Budget and National Planning to discuss the 2017 budget.
