#InCaseYouMissedIt: SSS parades suspected killers of kidnapped European contractors

by Lekan Olanrewaju

As fingers are still being pointed in different directions over the recently botched hostage rescue attempt, the State Security Services have paraded the suspected militants responsible for the murder of the kidnapped Italian and British workers in Sokoto.

The Briton and the Italian were kidnapped in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State and taken to Sokoto by an auxiliary arm of the Boko Haram group.

The hostages, Francesco Molinara and Chris McManus, were, according to Nigerian officials, shot at close range as the team of Nigerian and British special forces closed in on the location where they were being held captive. The British Prime Minister, however, said indications were that the hostages were “murdered by their captors, before they could be rescued.”

The accused are said to be awaiting trial.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Government also yesterday claimed that the kidnap organizer, Abu Mohammed died in prison 9 March from ‘injuries’.
