Veteran filmmaker and producer, Tunde Kelani turned 67 on Thursday, February 26. He chose to spend the special day with fans and movie lovers at the Ozone Cinemas, in Yaba, Lagos.

“My fans adore me, so why shouldn’t I pay them back by letting them celebrate with me now,” he told YNaija at the event.

 

The event kicked off around 6pm with fans of Kelani who showed up to participate in the screening of his new movie ‘Dazzling Mirage’.

Some of the movie cast; Kunle Afolayan, Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju and Bayo Bankole were also there to spend time with fans, sign autographs, sell movie tickets and take cool selfies.

 

Gushing about the success of the movie Dazzling Mirage to YNaija, the celebrant excitedly listed five reasons why every average Nigerian should see the movie.

1. It is a fantastic love story: The movie Dazzling Mirage tells a love story which revolves around a slicker who against all odds embarks on a journey for survival, overcoming social stigma and prejudice.

2. It is a contemporary Nigerian story in a contemporary setting, it is something we can all relate to.

3. It is an eye opening on sickle cell.  The movie helps to raise awareness about the sickle cell condition and to help people make better and informed decisions. Not many Nigerians know that Nigeria has the most populous number of sickle cell carriers in the world.

500, 00 people are born with it every year. More than 40 billions are sickle cell carriers.

4. It suggests that you know your genotype.

5. It admonishes young people to choose right, make the right decision when getting ready to settle down.
