An unprecedented 46 bills were passed into law on Wednesday, June 3, within the space of 10 minutes.

The bills which became law, were introduced by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Rules and Business, Senator Ita Enang.

The bills had been earlier passed by the House of Representatives in the outgoing 7th Assembly.

In spite of some opposition to the bills’ passage, Senate President, David Mark, called for a voice vote, and ruled in favour of those in support of the passage.

Mark subsequently informed those who were not satisfied with the passage of the bills to raise objections in writing during plenary on Thursday, June 4.
