The Senate has withdrawn the petition against ministerial nominee from Sokoto state, Aisha Abubakar.
The withdrawal of the petition was done at the resumed sitting on Wednesday after Senate President, Bukola Saraki read a letter from Senators representing Sokoto state.
The letter was read after Senator Kabiru Gaya of Kano South raised a point of order, stating that the petition against Abubakar should be withdrawn.
Senator Ibrahim Gobir of Sokoto East then moved the motion to withdraw the petition against Abubakar.
The motion was subsequently seconded by Senator Ahmed Sani, after which Saraki informed Senator Anyanwu not to bother about the report of the petition.
