Gossy Ukanwoke is the founder of Beni American University, a private online education platform – the first of its kind in all of West Africa – that is working towards providing education for individuals in under-served communities within Nigeria.
Ukanwoke in a Tweet-thread recounts the very familiar Nigerian horror story -Fulani herdsmen’s attack, and how it forced him to close up a branch of his university in Benue state.
We packed our bags & left Apa, Benue State because we couldn't guarantee the safety of our investment/uni because of Herdsmen.

We ignored it for a whole, thinking Agatu was a distance from Apa, until they invaded the host village, burnt houses and killed scores.

Abandoning a campus under construction, counting losses and moving on to somewhere new because – "Untouchable Herdsmen"

So yes, it is a topic that pains me very well. Investment wasted, Relationships damaged and People suffering because #FulaniHerdsmen

I really wish the Senate President at the time took it up to resolution. Cattle belong in Ranches not on the Streets of Abuja & Benue Farms
