A doctor in Benue State charged with the care and preservation of lives has done the opposite of his duty as he allegedly raped a patient on admission in his hospital.
The situation is made worse by reports that the alleged rapist doctor is HIV positive. The suspect has been arrested by police officers in the state after news of the crime was released.
The unidentified doctor reportedly practices at Tersoo Clinic in Naka town in the Gwer West Local Government Area of the state.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the medical personnel reportedly tested positive to HIV/AIDs and was receiving Anti-Retroviral (ARV) treatment at the General Hospital Naka, before the incident.
It was gathered that the female patient was brought to the clinic for emergency medical attention and after been placed on drip, recovered partially, but unknown to the medical personnel, who took advantage of the fact that she was semi-conscious and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
The police public relations Officer in the state, DSP Daniel Ezeala, confirmed the incident, saying, “the medical personnel has been arrested by our men in Naka and investigation in the matter is on-going.”
