INEC should accept responsibility and stop shifting blame – Ekiti PDP chieftain

by Ranti Joseph

A former senator, Festus Bode-Ola on Sunday has advised INEC to test run its card readers before using them for upcoming election. Bode Ola, the former representative of Ekiti Central Senatorial District on the platform of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) who stated this in Ado Ekiti also said that the card readers had not been tested to know if they would fail midway or not. “We don’t need a trial-and-error election mechanism at this age of our civilisation,” he said.

He also said it was evident that INEC was not prepared and had been romancing with the opposition, the All Progressives Congress (APC). “Above all, Jega and his co-travellers in the opposition should humbly admit once and for all that the elections were primarily postponed because INEC was not ready and should not shift the blames elsewhere,” he added.

Bode-Ola also said former president, Olusegun Obasanjo has lost his goodwill and political legitimacy for his constant condemnation of President Goodluck Jonathan.
