The catfight continues: “You are dull and uncreative”- ACN mocks PDP’s aspirations to rule Lagos

by Lekan Olanrewaju

Another day, another drama in this unending catfight between the ruling Peoples Democratic Party and the Action Congress of Nigeria. This time it’s the turn of the ACN to send barbs in the direction of the PDP, over what the former views as a “dream” to rule Lagos State.

In a statement by its spokesman  Joe Igbokwe, the Lagos State chapter of the ACN mocked the PDP’s aspirations to “capture” Lagos State, and dismissed the party as dull and uncreative.

“The vow to capture Lagos has become such a dull rehash that advertises the abject lack of ideas and creativity for such a party as the PDP that knows nothing but pillaging public treasury and capturing every election with the vilest means in the book,” read the statement.

“The PDP is on a predictable downward spiral given its maladministration and plunder of Nigeria , which has reached its bestial height at present when trillions are stolen with impunity, leaving Nigerians poor and wretched.”

“It is not surprising that the PDP is sounding like a cracked gramophone on its elusive desire to capture Lagos , a futile desire that is as old as the life of the tenuous democracy we are burdened with. It is not surprising that each fresh resolve to capture Lagos has been met with more resounding electoral defeat because the PDP thinks that it does not need to work for the hearts of Lagosians but wants to capture them through its vile means of stealing every election in sight.”

The harsh words didn’t stop there, as the ACN stated that the PDP symbolised the failure of the country and Nigerians were all too aware of this.

“Nigerians know that PDP does not believe that electoral victory or ‘capture’, as they fondly dub it, go with performance and this is why a party that has come to symbolise the grand failure of Nigeria as a nation, still talks of capturing Lagos,” the ACN said.

“Better still, let the PDP display its score cards on what it had done with the hundreds of trillions of Naira that has accrued to the federal government under its control since 1999 and use that to day dream about capturing Lagos .”
